TERMS & CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions outline the rules for using the Scottish Seaside Saunas website, booking sauna sessions, overseas retreats and purchasing merchandise. By placing an order or booking, you agree to the terms below.
1. About Us
We offer outdoor sauna experiences, overseas sauna restreats and sell sauna-related merchandise including sauna hats, dry bags, towels, and accessories.
2. Using Our Website
By accessing our site, you agree to:
- Use the website lawfully and respectfully
- Not interfere with website functionality or security
- Ensure that any information you provide is accurate
Product descriptions, availability, and pricing are kept up to date, but small variations may occur.
3. Sauna Bookings
3.1 Booking Confirmation
A sauna appointment is confirmed once full payment has been received. You will receive a confirmation email with your booking details.
3.2 Arrival & Late Policy
Please arrive on time for your session. Late arrivals may result in reduced time in the sauna, as we often run back-to-back sessions.
3.3 Cancellations & Rescheduling
For individual bookings:
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session: full refund or reschedule
- Cancellations made within 48 hours: non-refundable
- No-shows: non-refundable
For Private Bookings and larger groups, we need 7 full days notice for a full refund and 5 days notice for credits. We regret that we can’t give a refund or credits if it’s less than 5 days notice.
PLEASE NOTE: Credits will be valid for 12 months. We regret that we can not offer cash refunds for unused credits/vouchers.
If we must cancel or close due to severe weather, safety issues, or operational reasons, you will be offered a reschedule or full refund.
3.4 Safety & Behaviour
We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask guests to leave if their behaviour is unsafe or disruptive. No refund will be offered in such cases.
4. Health & Safety for Sauna Use
Sauna use involves exposure to elevated temperatures. By booking, you confirm that you understand and accept the following health & safety guidance:
4.1 Medical Considerations
Individuals using prescription medication should seek advice from their GP or pharmacist regarding how heat exposure may affect medication effectiveness. Certain medications — including diuretics, barbiturates, beta-blockers and some over-the-counter drugs such as antihistamines — can impair heat tolerance.
Please consult your GP before using the sauna if you:
- Are pregnant
- Have cardiovascular conditions (hypertension, hypotension, impaired coronary circulation, heart failure)
- Take medication affecting blood pressure
- Have a pacemaker or defibrillator
- Have had a heart attack within the last 6 months
- Have severe arterial disease
4.2 Injuries & Implants
- Recent joint injuries should not be heated for the first 48 hours or while they remain hot/swollen.
- Chronically hot/swollen joints may react poorly to heat.
- Metal implants (pins, rods, artificial joints) are not usually heated by saunas, but discontinue use if you experience discomfort.
4.3 Heat Sensitivity
Individuals with sensitivity to heat or difficulty regulating body temperature should seek medical advice before use.
5. Children & Sauna Use
‘All children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and are only allowed in sauna sessions that are booked privately, or part of a special sauna session for responsible family members and children. Children under 16 are not permitted in community sauna sessions.’
Children between 5-12 are permitted in private hire sauna sessions, only and at our discretion: cases where permitted, a 1:1 adult-to-child ratio is required. Please contact us, by email, or phone, to be given a full briefing of how all parties should behave for the safety and enjoyment of all, when sauna-ing.
6. Merchandise Orders & Payments
6.1 Products
We take care to describe and photograph items accurately. Minor variations in colour or texture may occur.
6.2 Payment
We accept card payment via Stripe. An order is only complete once payment has been processed.
6.3 Order Acceptance
We may refuse or cancel an order if there are stock inaccuracies, payment issues or suspected fraud. In such cases, you will receive a full refund.
7. Shipping & Delivery
- Orders are usually dispatched within 3 - 5 working days.
- Delivery times depend on your location and courier.
- Once shipped, you will receive a dispatch confirmation.
- Please ensure your shipping address is correct. We are not responsible for lost/delayed parcels due to incorrect details.
8. Returns & Refunds (Merchandise)
8.1 Returns Window
You may return eligible items within 14 days of receiving your order.
8.2 Condition of Returned Items
Items must be:
- Unused
- Unwashed

Due to hygiene reasons, worn sauna hats or towels may not be eligible for return.
8.3 Return Postage
Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the item is faulty.
8.4 Faulty/Damaged Items
If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 48 hours with photos. We will arrange a replacement or refund.
